I started my career in print design, transitioned to industrial design, then made a foray into user research in August 2013. My interests sit at the intersection of design, research, and psychology.
With an interest in healthcare and medical device design, I went back to school in 2013 to get my master’s degree in design research at the University of Cincinnati. Through research assistantships for 2 years, I got to work on some meaningful projects within the ER, OR, and the pediatric hospital.
Fresh out of grad school, I worked at projekt202 (a consultancy) for 2 years, performing UX research on mobile, web, and enterprise applications.
In May 2017, I consciously made the transition to in-house UX with the goal of helping build the UX research practice at Charles Schwab. In addition to UXR Ops, I am currently lead UX Researcher for the Innovation Labs and am the dedicated researcher to a Scrum team within Conversational Platforms.

What does the affordance allow the person to do?
MEANING
What does the affordance mean to that person? Why?
VALUE
Why is the affordance important to that person? What value are they getting out of it?

Community Initiatives – playing an active part in my community
